Six years!

That's right. This last week we celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary. This one felt special to me this year. I know 6 isn't a magic number or anything, but this year I just feel so grateful, and so proud of what we have built together over the last six years.

Someone said to me this last week that Mike and I make a good couple, that we are a good match, very well suited for each other. It touched me. If I could be considered to be a good match for Mike, it would be the best compliment I could think of. I brag about Mike a lot, but he really is wonderful. He's a wonderful father, a fantastic husband, and my best friend.

To celebrate this year, we actually took the girls to my dad's for a night/day and we spent a night and day in Salt Lake City. We went out for dinner, stayed at the Plaza Hotel, then the next morning walked across the street to the temple and did a live session, which was wonderful! We happened to be in the temple doing a session at the exact same time that we were there 6 years ago for our sealing. Then we went out to lunch at the Red Ginger Bistro and got some awesome sushi and lo mein!! Following are a few photos (out of order - sorry!)

The night before at the Cheesecake Factory. If you ever go there, and if you like Thai food, OH MY GOSH, PLEASE get the Bang-Bang Chicken and Shrimp. Oh. My. Gosh. Seriously Heaven.

Mike got a pulled-pork and cole slaw sandwich and the wild mushroom soup! YUM!!

Okay, so yes, all we got pictures of is us eating our food. But seriously - YUMMY!!!!

I love you, Babe. I am so, so grateful that this is forever.

{ Book-a! }

Emma has recently discovered the joy of books - she is truly my daughter!! All day long, we hear the cry of "book-a, book-a, book-a!" ringing through the house. It gets louder and louder and louder until someone will sit down and read her a book. (And when I say "LOUD," those of you who know Emma personally know just how loud I mean.) So, so cute!! (And also a bit irritating when it's all day long.)

We often make trips to the library, but last week it seemed to click for her that this was the mecca of books. The library walls shook with her screams of "BOOK-A, BOOK-A!!!" She ran up and down the rows, pulling book after book onto the floor. And when it was time to go, her chant went up even higher in volume and desperation. Hilarious!! (Okay, and a teeny bit embarassing.) But here are a few pictures I took of my girls at the library this last week, reading their books together. :)

( I should have saved the best for last, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to put the pictures in the order I want.) Aiva kept making goofy faces, so I showed her how to tilt her head and smile. I snapped the shot, then looked at it, suprised to see that Emma had copied me also.

Can I just put in a little ditty here about Aiva? She has been the sweetest, BEST girl lately. She went through a really hard stage at about 3 - I mean, awful!! - but the last month, it's like she's grown out of the toddler stage and is a sweet, kind, thoughtful, obedient (for the most part) little girl. I am so, so proud of my girl. She is growing up to be such a sweet little lady.
